Located in one of Sydney's lane ways, Felix is a bistro inspired by it's Parisian counterparts, with a hint of New York flare. Stepping into the entry vestibule, you are taken by the drama of the space. The central crustacean bar sits proud of its wine cellar backdrop with carved timber details and glowing onyx shelving. Flanking the dining space is the open kitchen with a hand cut mosaic feature wall, and a bar finished with a custom designed solid pewter top, hand made and imported from the USA.
Felix is filled with intricate details, some of which you may not discover on your first visit. Carved wooden claws sit below each banquette, a bunch of cast bronze grapes form the door handle to the wine cellar and pewter characters moulded from a photo of the owner Justin Hemmes, form the handles of the champagne urns on top of the bar. A second hand cut mosaic mural was installed above the bar, produced from an illustration drawn by Sally Spratt, commissioned for this site.
Make sure you discover this heritage lane way, home to Felix.

Located in one of Sydney's most exclusive suburbs, Victor Churchill is a family run butcher like no other. This is a retail store that breaks all the rules of what is expected. The store is laid out in a manner that encourages customers to walk throughout the store to the area for purchase, taking in the restored Berkel slicers and working kitchens along the way. Customers are involved in their purchase, requesting the trimming of their meat as desired and educated about the best way to cook their products.
Taking cues from the traditional butcher shops in Europe, Victor Churchill brings theatre to the art of butchery. Behind glass, butchers work on custom designed, solid oak chopping blocks, often to an audience of shoppers. Every item within the shop has been custom designed and made, right down to the French imported rotisserie which was re-plated copper. The fine finishes of Calacatta marble, solid timber and copper fretwork are balanced with an original sandstone wall discovered during demolition, hide from Kyle Bunting in the kitchens and the illuminated salt brick wall in the glass cool room. Filled with details, this shop is a favourite to Sydney-siders and has collected a slew of local and international design awards, not to mention an unscheduled visit by Oprah when she was in Sydney!

Opening in late 2012, Garis & Hahn is a new art gallery situated on Bowery in New York's latest arts district. The vision of Mary Garis and Sophie Hahn, this gallery breaks away from tradition, inviting all who enter to have a voice, provide their opinions and interact with the art in a way many galleries don't. Unlike the conventional gallery model, Garis & Hahn curates their shows around a central topic, inviting artists to display their works to express commentary. It is this model that allows Garis & Hahn to express their opinion of now, always being relevant, contemporary and stimulate conversation. A gallery for both the emerging and established artists and collectors alike, the reach of the gallery is far; art is made accessible, foregoing the traditional pretensions of many galleries.
This project was a combination of brand strategy, graphic design, tone of voice and interior design which came together to produce a distinctive art experience. With an emphasis on today, the Garis & Hahn brand was created with a tagline of "Est. Now", demonstrating their commitment to current conversations presented in art.

Mr. Wong is one of the latest additions to the Merivale Group, located in Sydney's CBD. Designed with Chinese influences and Colonial styling, this restaurant builds upon the layers of heritage already instilled within this beautiful building. The original brick walls are left exposed and untouched and the solid timber structure is dramatically illuminated to show off its beauty. The kitchens, the bar and the three storey wine cellar are striking and buzzing with action.
Seating close to 250 people, this restaurant is filled with eclectic furniture, materials imported from all over the world and styling intricacies. Dining takes place in many distinct areas, be it in a private dining room, at the open kitchen or on one of the large group tables. This Cantonese restaurant was the brain child of owner Justin Hemmes, carried out by a team of designers at Dreamtime Australia Design, Bettina Hemmes and Sibella Court.

Repening in November 2008, the Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island was reborn following extensive renovation. This renovation saw an overhaul of all food and beverage outlets, including their signature restaurant Ports O'Call, their bar Chime, all day dining restaurant Feast, and the anticipated introduction of Flying Fish Restaurant, sister to it's Sydney location. With every outlet comes a distinct style, sympathetic to the surroundings and heritage of the hotel.
Flying Fish was designed with dining in the sand in mind. Bougainvillea stretches across the timber roof of the beach dining pavilion, custom designed teak furniture is nestled into the sand and daybeds surround the bar ensuring as little movement as possible whilst on holiday. At night, the timber is illuminated with an abundance of warm lighting, fire features dispersed throughout the dining area flicker and large scale sandstone boulders are lit to form natural art. During service, the kitchen is on show with state of the art equipment behind glass, in full view of every diner.
Chime Bar is vibrant and features locally carved timber detailing. Daybeds are a feature of this bar, allowing patrons to relax in the gorgeous setting, overlooking the pool. Ports O'Call is said to be the most regarded restaurant in Fiji with a well established history. Design cues reference the art deco period though use of polished timbers, silks, brass details and atmospheric lighting. The standout piece of this restaurant is the commissioned artwork painted by Sydney Artist Sally Spratt, glimpsed through the brass wine cellar immediately upon entering. The all day dining restaurant Feast is bold and theatrical, featuring satellite kitchens and stations clad in custom hand cut mosaic patterns. The intense colour and detail is at its best at night, illuminated with warm lighting and admired from the beach.
